Lambda Chamaeleontis (l Cha), is a star located in the constellation Musca. Lambda Chamaeleontis is also known as HR 4617, and HD 105340. The star is located at Right Ascension 12h 7m 50sec and Declination −75 deg 22 arcmin 01 arcsec. Lambda Chamaeleontis is a K2III giant star with an effective temperature of 5000 Kelvin. It has an apparent visual magnitude of +5.18, and an absolute visual magnitude of −.469. It is located 134.1 parsecs, (437.3 light years) from the sun and has a mass of 2 solar masses. The star was first designated Lambda Chamaeleontis by Lacaille, in his Coelum Australe Stelliferum. He listed it close to Pi Chamaeleontis in both brightness and location.
